How To Download Library Books To Nook Glowlight
Rooting the NOOK GlowLight Plus (Linux)
and opening Arabic eBooks (epub)
It's a compassion that the Barnes & Noble NOOK having such interesting hardware is non able to read Standard arabic (and Hebrew) eBooks out of the box. The trouble is in the stock awarding wich does not support it. Once rooted you can unlock the full potential of the device like installing a better launcher (see below) and using the integrated browser or a third political party capable reader.
Disclaimer: Please note that rooting your device voids its warranty and can brick it. Exercise it at your own risk!
All the credit goes to the writer of the original rooting script that can exist found at this XDA thread. The script runs on any distro.
Let'south practise it

For a amend experience
- Install ReLaunch, an first-class community launcher and file managing director well adapted to the NOOK
- Install a skilful reader like
Moon+orAldiko - [Optional] Disable the stock NOOK application (Settings -> Apps -> All -> NOOK), this will relieve some battery and some data sent in the backgroung (I don't accept books purchased from B&Due north, so I don't mind the service disconnection)
- Install
Button Saviorawarding to have a floating back button just like normal tablets
Bonus: Rooting the GlowLight three
This XDA post reports that the same script works on the NOOK GlowLight three, yous just need to alter the model number in rootnook.sh from BNRV510 to BNRV520
ANDROID_SERIAL= `adb devices -l | grep BNRV510 | sed 'south/ .*//' ` For the GlowLight 3, should exist
